Scenestation.com is co-authored by a team of actors, writers and acting teachers. We are all passionate about Acting and the development of quality and craft in our profession. Good writing provides a solid basis for good acting work. We recognised that good quality scenes for actors are sometimes hard to come by. So we decided to write and collect well written scenes and put them together as one resource. All material in scenestation is written for scenestation. Our scenes are for actors attending scene-class and for actors who want to rehearse and perform scenes. Every scene gives equal parts to both players. The scenes also give the actors a chance to develop specific skills. Some scenes require the actors to use more immediate circumstances than others. While some require the actors to create a strong pre-text or background to their characters. We have also included additional resources such as Contentless Scenes and Scenarios. Contentless Scenes are ambiguous and can be interpreted in many ways. Scenarios are designed to provide a stimulus for improvisation giving actors a context and relationship on which to build. |
